FDR Library

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to visit the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Library and Museum in Hyde Park, York. I came about an hour before closing so I decided to walk around and look at the items they had at the Welcome Center. FDR was the US President from March 4, 1933- April 12, 1944. He is the only president to serve more than two consecutive terms. Also, what I learned is that he is the first president to have a Presidential Library and he is the only one to start planning for his library while being a sitting president.

He opened the library in June 30, 1941 and throughout the years the library has expanded. It sits on the 1200 acre Roosevelt Estate that has other properties people can visit as well. It is definitely worth a visit and I will be back for an extended visit.
